Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Pediatrics Pulmonology)
Join Tulane University School of Medicine as a full‑time academic pediatric pulmonologist. The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Pulmonology is partnered with the Children’s Hospital of New Orleans (CHNOLA) and works closely with LSU Health Sciences. You will play a key role in education, clinical care, and research.
Summary The selected candidate will be actively involved in all aspects of teaching, including training medical students and residents. CHNOLA is a 224‑bed, not‑for‑profit regional medical center that offers advanced pediatric care to children from birth to 21 years. With more than 400 physicians trained in over 40 subspecialties, it is the only full‑service hospital exclusively for children in Louisiana and the Gulf South.
Responsibilities
Teach and supervise medical students, residents, and fellows in pediatric pulmonology.
Provide high‑quality clinical care at CHNOLA.
Lead multidisciplinary case discussions and rounds.
Develop and deliver didactic and clinical curricula.
Participate in scholarly activities, including research, publication, and grant writing.
Engage in service and quality improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with faculty and staff in program development and evaluation.
Qualifications
Medical degree and board‑certified in Pediatrics with fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonology or equivalent.
Active state medical license in Louisiana.
Strong teaching and communication skills.
Demonstrated commitment to scholarly activity and clinical excellence.
Experience in a collaborative academic environment is preferred.
