Director - Cross-Regional Power and Renewables Research Lead
The Team:
The Global Power & Renewables Research team is dedicated to analyzing market and policy developments in the power and renewable sector worldwide. Our team values collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to delivering critical insights, data, and analytics to empower clients to navigate the rapidly evolving power and renewables landscape to make strategic investment decisions. The Impact:
As the lead for cross-regional research initiatives in the global power and renewables research team, your work will directly shape investment strategies and reinforce S&P Global Commodity Insights’ position as a leader in power market insights and data-driven solutions. The role encompasses research production, team collaboration, and commercial support. Research topics include policy analysis, regulatory frameworks, market reforms, emerging trends, supply/demand/price forecasts, and analytics globally or across multiple regions. The position will also involve collaboration with internal teams, such as other research groups and commercial and supporting functions, to enhance S&P Global’s brand recognition and maximize commercial value.
Responsibilities:
Cross-Regional Insights:
Spearhead and coordinate research initiatives across multiple regions to develop high-impact research reports that inform investment decisions.
Thought Leadership:
Act as a spokesperson and thought leader, representing S&P Global Commodity Insights at industry conferences, media engagements, and client meetings.
Innovation in Research:
Drive the adoption of innovative research methodologies and tools, enhancing the quality, efficiency, and impact of research outputs.
Team Development:
Mentor and work with a high-performing team of analysts, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and innovation.

What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, Energy, Business, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s or Ph.D. degrees are preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in energy research, with a focus on power and renewables.
Proven thought leadership in energy and power market and policy analysis.
Proven experience in managing cross‑regional research projects and teams with or without a direct supervisory role.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a track record of producing impactful research.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
Effective interpersonal skills to enable communication and collaboration with colleagues and clients.
An aptitude to learn and adapt quickly in a rapidly changing global environment.
Compensation & Benefits (US Applicants Only): S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $125,000 to $150,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan and other S&P Global benefits.
