Pharmaceutical Technologies Specialist – Hospital Pharmacy

Summary Orders, delivers, and maintains records of controlled substances, manufactures extemporaneous compounds. Performs quality control and quality assurance activities. Provides customer support for technology issues related to automated dispensing cabinets. Upholds the standards of the system-wide customer service program.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be 18 years or older with no felony convictions, per Ohio Revised Code 4729.42.
Current/active Certified Pharmacy Technician from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or possess an Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) from the National Healthcareer Association.
Maintains certification throughout employment.
Registered as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy or obtain within 90 days of hire.
Reliable transportation to travel to external satellites.
Preferred: Minimum 3 years at MetroHealth or 5 years as a pharmacy technician in a teaching hospital.
Physical Requirements
May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
Visual and hearing requirements acceptable with or without correction.
Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required.
May need to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion.
Requires exposure to biohazardous chemicals.
