Director, Client Development – Life Science Role Summary As a Director, Client Development – Life Science, you will manage relationship development, project development, sales campaigns, and business planning for clients within the Life Science markets. You will lead clients through business case development, front‑end planning, and project development for manufacturing and distribution focused capital investments. Success is measured by winning new business, expanding existing relationships, and contributing to scaling our AEC business.

Responsibilities

Provide client, technical, and project delivery leadership in the development of capital projects for the Life Science markets.

Lead and collaborate on front‑end programming, planning, schematic design, and pre‑construction of projects delivered as design‑build or EPC solutions.

Develop and execute client development and design‑build solutions to achieve business goals.

Build long‑standing client relationships based on trust, technical excellence, and concierge‑level service.

Expertise in proposals, contracts, planning and zoning, real estate acquisition, manufacturing & distribution operations, project plans, and budgets.

Focus on overall project success and client objectives: scope, schedule, budget, safety, quality, and operational performance.

Analyze and develop specialized technical solutions for new and existing cGMP facilities.

Maintain knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Mentor and guide other AEC professionals.

Lead market and trend analysis, client and business development planning, account planning, pipeline analysis, forecasts, and account performance evaluation.

Communicate relevant information on targeted clients, contacts, and opportunities.

Lead and/or assist on client RFPs, targeted pursuits, marketing campaigns, presentations, trade events, and interface with client representatives.

Make an impact daily by strengthening relationships with clients and the Design Group team.

Requirements

15+ years leading design and construction of facilities, including programming, schematic design, construction documents, permit acquisition, pre‑construction, construction, and operations turn‑over.

Leadership skills with a drive to grow local, regional, and national clients.

Ability to structure and lead design‑build and EPC projects for cGMP manufacturing and distribution facilities.

Understanding of facility operational requirements, flows, automation, environmental classifications, and regulatory requirements.

Demonstrated ability to anticipate market trends, adapt, and improve project outcomes.

Entrepreneurial drive and passion for client relationship development.

Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to deliver impactful presentations.

Ability to break down complex problems into manageable components.

Knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes and requirements.

Experience in greenfield, brownfield, renovation & expansion type projects.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nationwide client portfolio; travel required for meetings, site walk‑throughs, and presentations.

BS or MS in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related technical discipline.

Compensation Approximate pay range: $150,000 – $190,000. Final compensation may vary based on background, skills, and geographic location.
