Deputy General Counsel (General Counsel (Assistant)) Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) ,

Office of the General Counsel (OGC) , Government of the District of Columbia

Base Pay Range:

$126,178.00 per year – $190,823.00 per year

Responsibilities

Conduct research of laws, legal opinions, policies, regulations, and cases relevant to economic development, public finance, continuing disclosure, tax-increment financing, appropriations, governmental grants, procurement practices, and contracts.

Keep abreast of changes in laws and regulations.

Review documents presented to the CFO and/or General Counsel for approval or signature.

Serve as Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Disclosure Counsel for OCFO FOIA requests.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Five (5) years of progressive experience reviewing, analyzing, and drafting documents related to complex legal issues and legislation; serving as a legal advisor; and knowledge of one or more disciplines including Corporate Law, Legislation, Litigation, Commercial, Federal or State/Municipal Government, Labor Contracts, Public Finance, Economic Development, or other relevant fields.

Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school required, and D.C. bar licensure or membership within six months of employment.

Requirement to submit an official transcript and, if applicable, a U.S. evaluation of foreign transcripts with valid credential equivalency reports from NACES or AICE.
