Position Overview
The Department of Neurology and the Neurosciences Institute of Albany Med Health System seeks board certified or board eligible vascular neurologists to join the faculty of Albany Medical College, a nationally recognized stroke center and New York State–designated Comprehensive Stroke Center.
Position Highlights
Academic Environment:
Engage in teaching and mentorship of medical students, neurology residents, and vascular neurology fellows at Albany Medical College.
Clinical Scope:
Provide a balanced mix of inpatient and outpatient vascular neurology care supported by advanced practice providers with a flexible call schedule.
Collaborative Team:
Work within a multidisciplinary group that includes vascular neurologists, neurointensivists, neurosurgeons, stroke-trained nurse practitioners, and a 5‑member neuroendovascular team available 24/7.
Opportunities
Telestroke Program:
Voluntary participation in a growing telestroke service.
Leadership:
Candidates with interest or experience in leadership are encouraged to help shape program development and strategic initiatives.
Research:
Participate in ongoing clinical research with support from the department and access to a diverse patient population.
Albany Medical Center serves as a major referral hub for upstate New York, Vermont, and western Massachusetts. The facility includes a 14‑bed dedicated stroke unit and a 15‑bed state‑of‑the‑art Neurosciences ICU, fostering an environment for clinical excellence and academic growth.

Competitive base salary range $250,000‑$270,000 depending on academic rank with additional incentive bonus opportunity
