Medical Scribe – Job Overview A Medical Scribe is responsible for relieving a physician of their clerical duties, thereby allowing a physician to focus on providing the best care to the patient. They locate and obtain a patient’s medical history, document dictated notes during a patient visit on the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), facilitate diagnostic tests, and provide unparalleled customer service to our patients.
Essential Functions
Manage multiple patients per hour.
Maintain a quick pace in a fast‑paced medical office facility for the duration of a scheduled shift.
Provide compassionate care to patients.
Assist the physician with basic patient care and clerical duties (e.g., locate and obtain patient’s medical history, document notes on the EMR, and facilitate diagnostic tests).
Communicate with patients, pharmacies, and physicians over the phone under physician guidance.
Help maintain a clean, courteous, and professional working environment.
Assist with training and acclimation of new hire scribes.
Perform other related duties as assigned by office managers.
Qualifications
High‑school degree or equivalent preferred.
Bilingual in English and Chinese required.
Computer and typing skills required—minimum 45 words per minute.
Passion for helping others.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
High attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment.
