Job Overview St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is seeking an ABR‑certified or eligible nuclear medicine physician to serve as Section Chief of Nuclear Medicine in the Department of Radiology. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in pediatric oncologic imaging and will be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Tennessee and a DEA license.

Department and Section Focus St. Jude hosts a focused pediatric radiology program that embraces cutting‑edge imaging modalities, including a 4‑state‑of‑the‑art MRI suite, expanded field‑of‑view PET/CT, SPECT/CT, and advanced AI and AI‑quantification core laboratories. The Nuclear Medicine section serves children with cancer, sickle‑cell disease, and other catastrophic illnesses and integrates clinical trials, theranostics, and translational research.

Clinical Responsibilities

Interpret PET/CT and nuclear medicine exams and prescribe nuclear medicine procedures.

Direct technologists on nuclear medicine procedures as needed.

Provide consultation services on imaging indications and interpretations to clinical staff and faculty.

Participate actively in weekly multidisciplinary conferences and other educational conferences.

Collaborate daily with radiology faculty colleagues in the reading room.

Provide night/weekend call backup to after‑hours imaging services for fluoroscopy and other remote teleradiology services.

Demonstrate the knowledge and skills to perform, supervise and interpret diagnostic imaging procedures on all ages of children and young adults.

Qualifications

MD, DO, or equivalent degree.

Board certification (or eligibility) with the ABR or ABNM and fellowship training in pediatric radiology or oncologic nuclear imaging.

Eligibility for medical licensure in Tennessee and a DEA license.

Strong clinical acumen, collaborative nature, and interpersonal skills.

Academic rank will depend on experience and qualifications.
