Our client, an independent exploration and production company, is looking for an experienced Data Solutions Architect who has a strong foundation in oil and gas data environments. This position is well-suited for someone who has built and supported large-scale data platforms, overseen SQL database operations, and integrated data from key industry systems. The ideal candidate will be able to blend strategic planning with hands‑on execution to deliver dependable data solutions that improve operational insight and efficiency. This role is onsite daily.
Responsibilities
Develop scalable data architectures that align with operational and analytical needs in the oil and gas industry. Create, manage, and optimize integrations that bring data in from disparate oil and gas systems. Work closely with business users and technical teams to gather requirements and translate them into solution designs. Maintain strong data quality, data consistency, and security practices across multiple platforms. Enhance data storage, performance, and retrieval processes for both speed and cost-effectiveness. Provide direction and technical expertise to teams working on data-driven initiatives. Monitor data pipelines, warehouse processes, and integrations to ensure smooth and reliable operations. Requirements
Experience working as a DBA/Data Solutions/Data Engineer or similar role in oil and gas operations. Previous background as a SQL Database Administrator. Specifically database performance tuning, optimization. Experience in data warehousing and ETL processes. Extensive experience in data integration and workflows with Oil and Gas systems such as: Scada (Cygnet), ProCount, Aries, Wellview, Aries. Deep experience in SQL and data modeling. Advantageous
Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms like Azure or Snowflake. Data governance practices and compliance requirements. Familiarity with reporting tools and business intelligence solutions. Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. This role is on site in downtown Houston daily. 9‑80s schedule.
