Logos Space
Logos Space is a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite system purpose-built to serve the connectivity needs of commercial enterprise users and government users. We will help fill an important gap in the market, providing resilient, high-performance satellite-based connectivity services to enterprise and government customers worldwide. Business customers have contracts with agreed-upon performance standards for their broadband, and Logos will build these capabilities into the system from the beginning. Speed and reliability are the foundation of the system. Logos is designed to extend cloud and data center network connectivity anywhere in the world to fixed, seaborne, and airborne terminals.
Logos is led by a team of highly experienced engineers with proven track records in the networking and satellite industries.
The Sr. Real-Time Emulation System Engineer will lead the design, development, integration, and deployment of complex Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) simulation systems. This role is critical for rigorously testing, validating, and optimizing satellite flight software, on-board subsystems, and mission control systems before launch and during on-orbit operations. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in satellite GN&C subsystem architecture, “flat-sats”, and advanced simulation/emulation technologies.
You should be prepared to work and thrive in a fast-moving environment where you are comfortable taking vague design ideas and turning them into tangible hardware that is ready for use. We are seeking engineers who love to solve hard problems.
Responsibilities
Emulation System Architecture: Architect, design, and lead the implementation of a high-fidelity space-vehicle emulation system, or “flat-sat”, including Attitude Determination and Control, payloads, Command & Data Handling (C&DH), power subsystems, etc. The “flat-sat” is a hybrid architecture, incorporating internally and externally developed hardware and software elements.
Real-Time Software Development: Develop and optimize real-time software and hardware that accurately and deterministically reflects the physical properties, responses, and timing of the satellite.
Basic Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math).
Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in some form of real-time embedded systems engineering.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in real-time programming and scripting languages like Python for modeling and test automation.
Background in embedded systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
Proficiency with simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink and Ansys Systems Tool Kit (STK) and for system modeling.
Experience with data acquisition systems and communication protocols used in spacecraft architecture (RS422, UART, CAN, etc).
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a STEM field with relevant design and analysis work experience.
Experience with Digital Twin technology application in aerospace.
Experience with FPGA or VHDL for hardware-level modeling.
Familiarity with Agile development practices including DevOps and workflow management tools (e.g., Git, Jira, etc).
Experience with a full product lifecycle (concept, design, integration & test, operations).
Experience developing and validating operational flight dynamics systems leveraging a working knowledge of orbital mechanics and spacecraft attitude determination and control systems (ADCS/GNC).
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
Seniority Level Mid-Senior level
Employment type Full-time
Job function Engineering and Information Technology
Industries Telecommunications
