Job Overview
CCS Global Tech, a certified Microsoft Gold Partner, seeks a consultant to develop interactive dashboards to support City Colleges Decision Support team. The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining dashboards that provide real‑time access to key performance indicators across higher education data.
Responsibilities
Dashboard Design and Development
Develop approximately 11 tabs in a single dashboard:
1 Overview page with a scorecard for performance on KPIs for the last 3-5 years
Approximately 10 tabs with similar layout covering 10 public Key Performance Indicators
Architect and develop user‑friendly interactive dashboards for centralized data access, guided by PowerPoint mock‑ups
Design intuitive navigation, filters, and customization options for end users
Implement self‑service functionality that eliminates routine Decision Support requests about KPIs
Data Integration and Automation
Connect dashboards to institutional data systems for real‑time or scheduled updates
Implement automated data refreshes and validation procedures
Establish proper data governance and security protocols with the Data Governance committee and BI team
Content Organization
Collaborate with Decision Support to standardize metric definitions and calculation methodologies
Ensure consistent data visualization practices across all dashboard components
Testing and Continuous Improvement
Conduct usability testing and gather user feedback
Establish a maintenance plan for long‑term sustainability
User Training and Documentation
Develop training materials and guides for end users and administrators
Desirable Skills
Technical Expertise
Advanced proficiency in Tableau Desktop, Prep, and Cloud with demonstrated experience creating interactive dashboards (required)
Experience in dashboard development, including interactive features and automated data pipelines
Strong knowledge of higher education data structures and common metrics
Ability to integrate Tableau with institutional data systems and databases, including APIs and SharePoint lists
Strong background in data visualization best practices and accessibility standards
Proficiency in SQL, ETL processes, and relevant programming languages
Collaboration & Communication Skills
Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across multiple departments
Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to translate user needs into technical solutions
Experience creating clear documentation and training materials
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Experience & Certifications
Tableau dashboard development experience in a higher education environment
Previous work with community college data systems and metrics
Tableau certifications such as:
Tableau Desktop Certified Professional
Tableau Server Certified Professional
Tableau Data Management Certified
