Position Overview We have an exciting opportunity to join our Chain Sales team in the Midwest! The ideal candidate will be located in Illinois, Michigan or Ohio and will cover IL, MN, WI, MI, OH, IN, IA, NE. This role is an essential part of planning and executing the Retail Chain Strategy with a focus on the Grocery, Specialty Retail and Club Channels. This channel is responsible for market depletions and margin points.

Key responsibilities include working closely with key distributor contacts at Breakthru, Great Lakes, RNDC, Johnson Brothers, and Wine Trends to ensure strategy execution while focusing on strategic accounts such as Binny’s, Mariano’s, Jewel-Osco, Costco, Hy‑Vee, Giant Eagle, Meijer, and Heinen’s.

Responsibilities

Annual & Bi‑Annual Market Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders at distributor to bring the Hess Family Winery Strategic Plan to life; collaborate with internal teams (Marketing, Finance, Business Intelligence) to drive market insights; plan the deployment and maximize efficiency of market budgets (Trade Spend, A&P, T&E).

Quarterly/Monthly Market Planning: Prepare & lead Quarterly Business Review for the Chains; collaborate with strategic account manager, division manager, and VP to build and track trade programming; build pricing calendars; maintain monthly trackers with planner activity; conduct reviews.

Field Execution & Market Work: Conduct monthly meetings with distributor chain leads; drive execution of all chain programming; produce and communicate monthly field tools; conduct pricing audits; attend distributor chain team quarterly; plan and execute field holiday surveys, sales blitzes, and market visits.

Key Account Management: Collaborate with division managers to design and execute pricing strategy; lead development of Southeast Regional Chain strategy and sales plan; maintain buyer relationships; participate in key account events.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of wine industry sales management experience.

Experience in chain headquarters call at both wholesale and supplier levels.

Knowledge of retail chain, category management philosophy, and three‑tier distribution system.

Valid state driver’s license.

Strong wine industry and product knowledge.

Willingness to travel 40% or more.

Willingness to maintain flexible work schedules, including weekends and extended workdays.
