As a senior member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging, or designing of software applications or operating systems. You will provide technical leadership to other software developers, specify, design, and implement changes to existing software architecture, and may have a project lead role or supervise lower-level personnel. You must be fully competent in your area of expertise and possess 4 years of software engineering or related experience, with a BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to the functional area.
Core responsibilities include:
Building and operating a suite of massive‑scale, integrated cloud services in a broadly distributed, multi‑tenant cloud environment.
Planning, provisioning, lifecycle management, and security of customer network infrastructure within the Virtual Networking team.
Designing and implementing high‑availability and scalable service‑oriented architectures.
Turning requirements into high‑quality solutions as a rock‑solid coder and distributed systems generalist.
Basic qualifications:
5+ years of experience with application development.
2+ years of experience with distributed systems or network programming.
Proficient in any two of Java, C++, Python, Scala, Go.
Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and operating systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
Experience with distributed systems: familiarity with CAP theorem, consensus, messaging, and high availability.
Preferred qualifications:
Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related engineering fields.
Experience in cloud networking.
Experience building applications at cloud scale.

Range and benefit information (US): hiring range USD $79,200 – $178,100 per year, with potential bonus and equity.
