Description USRM Distribution Tech is hiring a Solution Architect responsible for establishing and providing leadership to the technology strategy and technology roadmaps for the Sales and Agency Support (S&AS) Portfolio. The role works closely with Solutions Engineers and teams on engineering choices and how they align to our enterprise well‑architected framework. The architect develops specifications for new and existing products/services, applications and service offerings. They provide technical oversight and architecture/engineering solutions to large, strategic, complex system and application development projects, usually at the domain and product level. They use professional concepts in developing resolution to critical issues and broad design matters. They are recognized as a thought leader within the discipline, influencing decisions by senior leadership and advancing the craft of architecture within our organization.

The Sales & Agency Support portfolio delivers innovative technological solutions and platforms that empower USRM’s distribution channels to operate efficiently and achieve profitable growth. Through agency and partner relationship management, enhanced independent agency experience, and streamlined sales information management, we provide the foundation for our sales leader’s success. Responsibilities

Contributes to the development of the technology strategy and technology roadmaps that enable the business, usually for a specific business capability domain.

Provides consultation and collaborates with Engineering Managers, business partners and peer groups regarding long‑ and short‑range product features. Provides oversight at the business capability domain level influencing decision‑making and prioritizing the business and architecture backlog for aligned development squads.

Educates and drives adoption of the well‑architected framework to promote Operational Excellence, Security, Reliability, Performance Efficiency, and Cost Optimization into cultural norms.

Contributes to design and development of architecture (integrated process, methodology, framework, software/applications, data, information, and technology) scalable solutions to business problems in alignment with enterprise architecture direction and standards.

Influences and partners with Product Owners and engineering teams to align the technical design and strategy with the product roadmap.

Connects Solution Engineering with Technology and Portfolio Architecture work to ensure sound roadmaps that deliver business value.

Responsible for prototyping complex, cross‑platform business solutions to validate newer technologies. Reviews and ensures major architectural designs are consistent, maintainable, flexible, and cost‑effective. Participates with application and infrastructure design architects to provide guidance for development and releases.

Maintains collaborative and strategic partnerships between customers, vendors, business partners, and technology teams.

Shares expertise to ensure that teams are continuously improving and learning together to meet current and future engineering and architecture needs.

Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of agile development methodologies, typically acquired through a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent experience.

At least 10 years of related experience.

Knowledge of software engineering languages and tools; proficient in new and emerging technologies.

In‑depth knowledge of diverse and emerging technologies and new architectural concepts and principles.

Understanding of layered solutions and designs; of shared software concepts and product features; security‑minded.

Proficient in all product and system components of technical architecture.

In‑depth knowledge of business operations, objectives and strategies; understanding of global business and technological trends, especially in the financial services industry.

Strong influencing and consensus building skills; adaptable to respond to change quickly.

Ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization with diverse backgrounds.

Highly developed negotiation, facilitation and influencing skills; adaptability to respond to change quickly.

Highly developed oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skills.

Desired Technical Skills

Salesforce Financial Services Cloud (FSC) – experience with Salesforce Connect, Bulk API, Platform Events, Omnistudio, Hyperforce, DevOps Center, Security Center, and Shield.

Salesforce Agentforce experience, OpenAI or equivalent large language model experience.

GraphQL, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Spring Boot, React.JS, Kafka.

Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) experience.
