Systems Engineer – MECM
Alaka‘ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs), a fast‑growing government service provider, is seeking a Systems Engineer—MECM to support a government customer located in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities
Support personnel, applications and appliances to maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements, including extensive engineering of Windows and Linux operating systems.
Install, configure and tune operations systems, third‑party applications and operating system security patches.
Troubleshoot operating systems, applications, and databases.
Manage systems hosted in a complex, multi‑layer network.
Implement cybersecurity controls and manage IT infrastructure, resource monitoring and alerting.
Work with SAN, enterprise backup solutions and fault‑tolerant technologies.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members on MECM best practices.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Certification
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field, or four‑to‑seven (4‑7) years of experience in the information technology field.
Must be IAT or IAM level III certified (CASP, CCNP, CISA, CISM, CISSP).
Required Skills & Experience
Multi‑platform engineering, patch management planning, baseline creation, and hardened system configuration.
Strong experience with centrally managed Linux and Windows systems patched through automated processes.
Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) covering:
Deployment and Management: software and application deployments, packaging, and deployment customization.
Operating System Deployment (OSD): Windows 11 baseline management and task sequence creation for upgrades.
Monitoring and Troubleshooting: client and infrastructure health monitoring, incident resolution, and Tier 2 support.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (desktop support, security, network, application owners, IT teams) for smooth rollout of updates and maintenance of IT standards.
Communicate with customers and stakeholders to collect data, analyze requirements, develop solutions and provide follow‑up reports on findings.
Use MECM reporting features for software license usage, patch deployments and compliance levels.
Strong interpersonal, communication and operating system administration skills.
Understanding of end‑user and server operating systems, virtualization, middleware and basic networking concepts.
Proficiency in scripting (e.g., PowerShell, VBScript, Perl, Python).
Knowledge of cybersecurity controls, IT infrastructure management and monitoring.
Experience with SAN, enterprise backup solutions and fault‑tolerant technologies.
Citizenship & Clearance
U.S. Citizenship required.
Active Top‑Secret clearance required.
