Our system leverages custom large‑language models, computer‑vision architectures, and frontier AI techniques to dramatically improve inspection processes for power & utilities, renewables, and public infrastructure. The platform reduces operations & maintenance costs, streamlines decision making, and enhances data accuracy.

Job Summary We seek a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer with deep expertise in cloud engineering, architectural design, and coding to help scale our AI SaaS platform. This role focuses on building production‑grade systems, mentoring engineers, and shaping the technical direction of a venture‑backed, AI‑native startup.

Key Responsibilities

Architect, design, and maintain high‑quality code in Python.

Design data pipelines that ingest diverse systems (Kafka, sensors, real‑time streams, data lakes).

Be well‑versed in AWS, Azure, container‑based applications, and Kubernetes.

Handle incremental, delta, and single‑source‑of‑truth data engineering workloads.

Review and approve PRs across services and SDKs, providing constructive feedback.

Rapidly prototype, scaffold systems, and decompose complex architectures into modular subsystems and microservices.

Lead a high‑code‑quality culture, implementing design and messaging patterns.

Own technical strategy for scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and multi‑cloud setups.

Contribute to built‑vs‑buy decisions, especially regarding open‑source and commercial tools.

Build integrations around legacy systems such as SAP and GIS.

Create and deploy modern data pipelines, APIs, and SDKs.

Advocate automation‑first thinking across environments, pipelines, and deployments.

Maintain reliable, high‑quality data engineering pipelines.

Participate in customer engagements, translating feedback into product and platform improvements.

Track record of building high‑quality, open‑source or enterprise‑grade software.

Background in high‑caliber tech companies or open‑source‑centric environments (e.g., Databricks, Hugging Face, Replicate).

Solid understanding of software design patterns, cloud architectures, and messaging patterns.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with AI/ML platforms, computer‑vision labeling tools, and data pipelines.

Built or contributed to systems supporting computer‑vision or remote‑sensing data via pipelines.

Prior work on enterprise‑scale legacy modernization initiatives.

Background in utilities, energy, infrastructure, or regulated, high‑complexity industries.

Education

Bachelor’s degree minimum in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field. Other educational backgrounds are encouraged if Minimum or Preferred Qualifications are met.
