Position Summary GEICO is seeking an experienced engineer with a passion for building high‑performance, low‑maintenance, zero‑downtime platforms and applications. The Senior Full‑Stack Engineer will help drive our insurance business transformation as we transition from a traditional IT model to a tech organization, co‑creating a culture of psychological safety and continuous improvement. You will collaborate across the organization to design and deliver scalable, high‑performance solutions to complex problems, drive innovation through automation, and ensure efficient data management.
Position Responsibilities
Design and develop scalable, resilient distributed systems.
Define product requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
Work with cross‑functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
Conduct design sessions, code reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
Create reusable application components and patterns.
Full‑stack development: front‑end (ReactJS, Redux, Hooks), back‑end (Python or Java), and database management (SQL and NoSQL).
Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices.
Utilize CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
Publish and maintain documentation for design references, workflows, and runbooks.
Provide system support, including 24x7 on‑call support when necessary.
Experience
5+ years of professional software development experience in large‑scale enterprise environments.
3+ years of experience with ReactJS and its core principles (Redux, Hooks).
4+ years of experience with backend technologies, including Python and Java.
3+ years of experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
Experience with RESTful services and APIs.
Experience with open‑source frameworks and tools.
Hands‑on experience designing and architecting scalable systems.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).
Expertise in ReactJS and its ecosystem (Redux, Hooks).
Experience with backend frameworks such as Java, Python, Spring Boot, or similar.
Proficiency in working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
Knowledge of responsive and adaptive design principles.
Ability to work with nested data structures like JSON, XML, and YAML.
Familiarity with programming and scripting languages such as Python, Golang, or PowerShell is a plus.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent education/work experience.
Annual Salary $100,000.00 - $215,000.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are considered to determine the final offer, including scope and responsibilities of the role, candidate’s experience, education, work location, and market and business considerations.
