JOB SUMMARY The Director of Revenue Cycle Applications provides strategic and operational leadership for technology solutions that drive revenue cycle efficiency and accuracy across the health system. This role oversees the implementation, optimization of enterprise applications—including Epic modules (HB, PB, Cadence, Prelude, Grand Central, HIM)—while ensuring seamless data exchange within the organization between Epic and disparate systems, devices and external partners. The Director will collaborate with revenue cycle leadership, IT, clinical operations, and external vendors to optimize workflows, enhance patient access and financial performance, and support organizational goals of quality, compliance, and sustainability.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership & Strategy
Develop and execute the roadmap for revenue cycle applications in alignment with organizational goals.
Provide leadership to teams supporting Epic HB, PB, Cadence, Prelude, Grand Central, HIM applications.
Partner with Finance, Revenue Cycle, Clinical, IT, and Compliance leadership to ensure technology enables operational efficiency and revenue integrity.
Operational Oversight
Oversee system design, build, testing, implementation, and ongoing support for Epic revenue cycle and access modules.
Ensure regulatory compliance (HIPAA, CMS, Joint Commission, etc.) and optimize audit readiness across applications.
Lead teams in identifying and resolving system and workflow issues impacting revenue capture, billing, coding, and collections.
Collaboration & Governance
Engage stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize initiatives, and ensure system alignment with business objectives.
Establish and participate in IT governance structures, ensuring effective communication and decision-making across revenue cycle, IT, and clinical operations.
Build strong vendor partnerships and manage third‑party contracts related to Epic and third‑party platforms.
Innovation & Performance Improvement
Monitor emerging technologies, regulatory changes, and industry trends in revenue cycle and interoperability.
Implement performance dashboards and KPIs to track financial, operational, and technical outcomes.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce denials, improve patient experience, and maximize reimbursement.
EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree:
Field of study: Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field required. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant professional experience, with at least five (5) of those years in a leadership or supervisory capacity within the specified field.
Master's Degree (Preferred):
Field of study: Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in healthcare IT, with at least 3–5 years in leadership roles.
Proven expertise in Epic revenue cycle and patient access modules (HB, PB, Cadence, Prelude, Grand Central, HIM).
Demonstrated success leading large‑scale Epic implementations, upgrades, and optimization projects.
Track record of driving operational improvements in revenue cycle performance, billing accuracy, and patient access.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Epic certification(s) in at least one core revenue cycle module (HB, PB, Cadence, Prelude or Grand Central) preferred.
Experience with Epic Gallery preferred.
