Director of Security Operations & Cyber Resilience
for a role based in
Westbrook, Maine
to support a confidential client and lead critical cybersecurity functions across a growing, innovation‑driven organization. Reporting directly to the CISO, this senior leader will drive operational excellence, ongoing maturity, and strategic direction across Security Operations, Incident Response, and Vulnerability Management. This is a high‑impact, on‑site role where your work will directly strengthen the company’s resilience and readiness in today’s evolving threat landscape.
About the Opportunity As the Director of Security Operations & Cyber Resilience, you will be responsible for enhancing visibility, vigilance, and response capabilities across the enterprise. You will lead a high‑performing team, evolve mission‑critical security programs, and embed security into business operations in a way that enables innovation and supports scientific advancement.
What You Will Lead
Security Operations
Lead and develop the
Security Operations team
with a focus on real‑time threat detection, response, and automation.
Strengthen incident response processes to increase speed, consistency, and resilience.
Vulnerability Management
Build and enhance a full lifecycle Vulnerability Management program, including asset discovery, prioritization, remediation tracking, and executive reporting.
Mentor and grow a high‑performing security organization, emphasizing skill development and succession planning.
Partner with the CISO and broader InfoSec leadership to define and execute the long‑term cybersecurity strategy.
Collaborate with business and technology leaders to embed security into operations, development, and transformation efforts.
Governance, Culture & Resilience
Contribute to executive and board‑level discussions, translating complex security insights into clear business recommendations.
Lead change management initiatives that strengthen a company‑wide
security‑first culture .
Ensure alignment with leading frameworks and standards, including
NIST ,
CIS , and
ISO 27001 .
What You Need to Succeed
10+ years
of progressive cybersecurity experience, with
5+ years in senior leadership roles .
Proven success building and maturing
Security Operations ,
Incident Response , and
Vulnerability Management
programs.
Bachelor’s degree in
Computer Science ,
Information Security , or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks such as
NIST ,
CIS , and
ISO 27001 .
Executive presence and exceptional communication skills across technical and non‑technical audiences.
Relevant certifications such as
CISSP ,
CISM , or
GIAC
strongly preferred.
Location Requirement This is a 100% on‑site role based at the company’s headquarters in
Westbrook, Maine . Candidates must be within driving distance or willing to relocate.
