Role Description This is a full-time remote role for an Azure Data Engineer. We are looking for Software Developer / Azure Data Engineer to build data/analytical solutions using SQL Server, Delta Lake, ADL(Azure Data Lake), ADF(Azure Data Factory), Synapse and Spark. In this role, you should be able to work on requirements gathering, technical design, and development along with troubleshooting performance issues, identify root cause and apply fixes. You should be a team player and excellent communicator. If you are passionate about data engineering and big data solutions and software design/architecture, we’d like to meet you. Your goal will be to work with internal teams to design, develop, deploy and maintain data solutions in Azure.

Responsibilities

Gather requirements for Services/Applications by collaborating with Business and Service stakeholders

Develop project plan by collaborating with partner software engineering teams and other dependent teams with clear milestones and execution

Write clean code and develop solutions with SQL, Synapse, Spark, Delta Lake, ADL(Azure Data Lake), ADF(Azure Data Factory) using Azure Cloud Platform

Test and deploy applications and services in Azure with ADO (Azure DevOps), Azure Runbooks.

Develop automated test cases, CI/CD pipelines, YAML and implement service telemetry, monitoring and alerting

Drive sprint planning, sprint reviews, sprint demos of the projects.

Identify new ways of looking at problems and identifying opportunities

Utilizes enhanced tooling, reports and dashboards to drive daily and weekly triage of blockers in the system as well as predictive indicators for demand to be on track

Qualifications / Required Skills

7+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering related projects and all phases of SDLC

4+ years of experience with Azure Cloud including SQL Server, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Spark

3+ years of experience with working in Azure DevOps(ADO), Azure Runbooks, PowerShell, CI/CD pipelines, PowerBI.

Proficient in data integration/classification and data warehousing concepts and methodologies

Demonstrated ability to build ETL processes, data management, data governance frameworks

Experience with Agile methodologies, development workflows, and version control systems

Excellent analytical, verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills and attention to detail

Proven track record of partnering with software engineering teams to drive improvements in Services/Applications

BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
