Job Description The role is part of the Sales Engineering team and involves working closely with Account Managers, Product Management, Software Development, and executive leadership.
Who You’ll Work With When you join Arista as part of the Sales Engineering team, you’ll be reporting to a Regional Engineering Manager and working alongside some of the most skilled field engineers in the industry. In collaboration with Product Management and Software Development teams you will steer product developments, offerings, and strategic direction to best serve customers and prospects.
Note: Candidates must reside in the Seattle or Tacoma area.
What You’ll Do
Act as a trusted advisor to customers, gathering requirements and identifying opportunities with existing and new customers.
Collaborate with Arista Account Managers to conduct whiteboard network architecture reviews and identify areas for improvement in network performance.
Present Arista products including Open Networking Data Center, Cognitive Campus (Wi‑Fi), CloudVision (Network Automation), Security (Network Detection), Endpoint Security, and Real‑time Fabric Monitoring.
Design and implement scalable leaf‑spine architectures with overlay technologies such as VxLAN and EVPN to improve performance and efficiency for enterprise and commercial clients.
Run thorough hands‑on testing of customer proof‑of‑concept setups and network deployments to ensure successful deployment and performance.
Provide design guidelines and recommendations tailored to client needs and Arista Validated Designs, optimizing their network infrastructure.
Collaborate with the sales team on RFP/RFQs and provide customer feedback to Product Management and Engineering.
Help drive features and product development through your feedback and shape future network solutions.
Represent Arista at SDN and other Open Networking events and conferences, promoting our solutions.
Stay current on industry trends, competitive solutions, and emerging technologies.
Author white papers on Arista technology and solutions to solve real‑world customer challenges.
Qualifications
In‑person/on‑site support at client locations.
Preference for Network Industry Certifications such as ACE‑L4, ACE‑L6, ACE‑L7.
Minimum of 5 years of L2/L3 networking design and implementation experience focused on Data Center, Campus, and Wi‑Fi solutions.
Expert knowledge of routing and switching, L2/L3 protocols, and overlay technologies such as VxLAN.
Hands‑on experience designing highly scalable leaf‑spine network architectures.
Experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre‑Sales SE, or Network Consulting Engineer.
Deep knowledge of Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, eBGP, VxLAN, EVPN, multicast, spanning tree, and QoS.
Understanding of competitive landscape (Cisco, Juniper).
Proficiency with CLI.
Experience building network automation using Python and Ansible preferred.
Strong writing skills and ability to produce white papers.
Compensation Information Base salary ranges from $140,000 to $192,000, depending on location and experience. Additional compensation may include discretionary bonuses, equity, and sales incentive commissions. US‑based employees receive standard benefits such as medical, dental, vision, wellbeing, tax savings, and income protection.
