Investment Grade Municipal Bond Junior Trader
As an Investment Grade Municipal Bond Junior Trader you will be responsible for trading (buying/selling) municipal bonds within assigned limits and generate sales commission and trading revenue. You will be responsible for marketing municipal bonds to the investment grade institutional sales team and disseminating product and market information. The Municipal Trader will provide fixed income services to the institutional sales team, with a focus on our client’s best interest.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Execute trades in investment grade municipal bonds, while ensuring compliance with best execution and portfolio guidelines
Maintain and expand relationships with institutional clients and serve as liaison between institutional sales team and clients
Utilize electronic trading venues (MarketAxess, Tradeweb, Bloomberg, etc.) to facilitate best execution
Disseminate relevant market information to traders, sales team and clients
Respond promptly to corporate actions (bond tenders, exchanges, calls, documentation changes)
Monitor Market and credit spread dynamics to contribute to trade idea generation
Monitor open positions, track market movements and economic indicators, maintain accurate trade documentation, and monitor new issue markets
Provide data and comments to credit and market analysis teams for economic commentaries, client presentations and internal discussions as needed.
Work directly with head of the investment grade municipal trading desk, sales team and credit analyst to understand client needs and assist in trading oversight of institutional accounts
Identify opportunities to streamline trading workflows, enhance analytical reporting tools, and serve as representative to committees as needed
Remain aware of changing compliance standards. Maintains proper and accurate records and ensures that all trades comply with regulations and policies.

Qualifications, Education and Experience Recommendations
Bachelor's Degree, or the ability to demonstrate experience or academic achievement in related fields such as Economics, Finance, or Mathematics, or equivalent work experience
2-5 years of experience working on a fixed income trading desk or marketing products and ideas to financial advisors
Series 7 & 63 licenses
Strong understanding of fixed income products and pricing mechanics, excellent quantitative and analytical skills with attention to detail, proven ability to work effectively under pressure in fast-paced environments, strong written/verbal communication skills for market commentary and client materials, demonstrated proficiency in fixed income market and economic research, knowledge of securities markets and forces that drive these markets
Proficient with Bloomberg and other investment software package
Proficiency with Tradeweb and other ECN is a plus
Strong ethical standards and commitment to fiduciary responsibility
Ability to perform varied tasks from multiple sources and prioritize
Ability to quickly assess situations, react to market/economic conditions and offer creative solutions and opportunities.
Good interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with a variety of personalities
