Overview
A highly respected regional firm is seeking a senior corporate attorney to join its M&A and Private Equity practice groups as a partner. This is an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned transactional lawyer with a portable book of business (minimum $500,000) to take a leadership role within a growing platform. The role offers flexibility between the firm’s NYC and Long Island offices.
Key Qualifications
Minimum 7 years of experience in M&A, private equity, and general corporate law
Portable book of business of at least $500,000
Admission in good standing to the New York Bar; New Jersey admission a plus
Strong client‑facing skills with the ability to lead deals across a variety of industries
Experience with private equity transactions or fund formation preferred
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and project management skills
Key Responsibilities
Advise clients—including private equity funds, family offices, and founders—on complex M&A transactions
Lead deal teams in drafting and negotiating purchase agreements, joint ventures, and fund documents
Handle entity formation, corporate governance, and commercial contracts
Manage client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives
Collaborate closely with colleagues across departments in a supportive, entrepreneurial environment
