Base pay range: $27.00/yr - $29.00/yr
Signing bonus: $500 after 90 days of successful continuous employment*
The After School Program Assistant Coordinator will assist the Site Coordinator in designing and/or leading the Expanded Learning Program, supervise expanded learning program staff, and support academic, physical, and enrichment activities as part of our Expanded Learning Programs in San Francisco. They will be part of an innovative and creative team that impacts the community, makes the world a better place, and drives change.
Expanded learning programs are structured educational opportunities that occur outside the traditional school day, combining academic support, enrichment activities, and skill-building to enhance students’ overall learning and development.
Benefits:
Pay rate: $27.00‑$29.00 an hour, full-time 30‑40 hours per week, year‑round
Up to 16 paid BACR holidays and 25 school holidays per year

Qualifications:
Associate Degree or higher; alternatively, completion of at least 48 college units, or a passing score on the Instructional Aide Exam
Successful completion of a criminal background check and TB test clearance
3 years of experience in a K‑12 setting, or another youth‑lead program
At least 2 years of supervisory experience with a demonstrated ability to effectively lead and support a team of adults
Proficiency in technology & computer applications (Word, email, Google Drive, etc.)
Available full‑time, Monday through Friday
Willing to commit to a full academic school year
Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, and be capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time
Key Responsibilities:
Child and Youth Growth and Development: Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment that supports the developmental, cognitive, social‑emotional, and physical needs of youth; build positive relationships with students and encourage youth voice and leadership; resolve conflict and guide student behavior restoratively
Learning Environments and Curriculum: Assist the Coordinator with designing and delivering project‑based, culturally responsive, and enrichment‑focused curriculum aligned with school‑day learning and youth interests; implement academic support, SEL, and enrichment activities reflecting best practices in youth development
Child/Youth Observation and Assessment: Track student participation, progress, and engagement to inform planning and continuous improvement; support individual learning goals and behavior strategies in coordination with school‑day educators
Program Planning and Development: Develop program schedules, lesson plans, and materials to meet program goals and compliance standards; manage logistics, including space usage, supplies, and daily operations
Continuous Quality Improvement: Engage in a data‑driven quality improvement process; use assessment and reflection data to inform instruction, literacy activities, and small group work; collaborate with school site stakeholders to develop programs supporting academic success
Facilitate Training, Meetings, and Events: Support staff and stakeholder training, meetings, and events; cultivate relationships with school staff, families, and community partners; facilitate family engagement events and regular communication with caregivers
Health, Safety, and Wellness: Ensure program practices meet or exceed health and safety standards; uphold policies related to child supervision, emergency preparedness, and mandated reporting; maintain safety standards at all times
Professionalism and Leadership: Serve as a role model for staff and youth; uphold high ethical and professional standards; maintain confidentiality and integrity; participate in ongoing professional development aligned with the NAA competencies
Administrative Oversight: Manage attendance records, reporting requirements, grant compliance; submit required documentation on time, including program reports, monthly student attendance and snack reports; manage student recruitment, enrollment, scheduling, and registration to meet attendance goals; oversee day‑to‑day program operation in the absence of the Site Coordinator
