Project Manager - Aviation + Transportation

Location Washington, DC
What You’ll Do
Partner with the Project Architect and Project Designer to ensure project success.
Manage one or more projects through all phases, from planning to completion.
Oversee project financial performance, schedules, and team communication.
Direct employees and consultants to ensure work meets design intent, budget, and timeline.
Build strong client relationships and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Leadership & Management
Manage projects using Smartsheet and Deltek Vision, completing work plans that include identification of project team members.
Establish and validate project scope, fees, and budgets, and take accountability for the project’s financial results.
Prepare and deliver client presentations.
Lead multiple project teams and foster collaboration.
Ensure quality assurance and incorporate sustainable design solutions.
Client Interface
Foster a commitment to external and internal client service, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and engagement.
Manage client expectations regarding project scope, budget, and schedule.
Consult with client to determine functional and spatial requirements and prepare information regarding design, specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, and construction time.
Plan layouts of projects and integrate engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval.
Business Development
Participate in developing business plans.
Identify new business opportunities and marketing efforts while developing current client relationships.
Assist in fee proposals and contract negotiations.
Staff Development
Mentor and coach team members and participate in developmental reviews.
Define staff requirements for projects as needed or directed.
Recommend staffing to senior management and participate in interviews and recruiting of professional staff.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture required, Master’s preferred.
7+ years of architectural experience, including Aviation projects such as terminal and concourse design.
Licensed Architect with current registration in the region (preferred).
Strong knowledge of architectural systems, BIM, and project delivery methods.
LEED GA or AP accreditation (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
Compensation The reasonably estimated annual salary range for this position in Washington D.C. is $90,000 to $120,000. Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, education, and location.
