Macdonald & Company has been exclusively retained by a growing private equity real estate investment firm to appoint a Chief Financial Officer as the platform enters its next phase of growth.
The position requires a finance leader with experience in fund accounting and operations who can manage both fund level and management company responsibilities. The role includes oversight of a portfolio focused on hospitality and real estate investments, development of reporting and controls for future vehicles, and management of capital activity, systems, and processes related to upcoming fund launches.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee financial management for funds, co‑investment vehicles, and corporate entities.
Manage relationships with fund administrators, auditors, and tax advisors.
Direct quarterly and annual financial statements and investor reporting.
Lead internal accounting teams and ensure accuracy across all deliverables.
Oversee capital activity including calls, distributions, and fund level cash flow forecasting.
Implement and maintain compliance protocols while serving as Chief Compliance Officer.
Partner with leadership on budgeting, fund modeling, and strategic planning.
Provide analytical insights to support portfolio management, performance reporting, and fundraising.
Prepare the platform for upcoming fund launches, ensuring systems and controls are ready.
Improve internal processes, reporting standards, and financial infrastructure.
Qualifications
Ten plus years of experience in fund finance, private equity, or real estate investment management.
Track record in fund accounting, administration, audit, or tax oversight.
CPA preferred; experience with a major public accounting firm or institutional manager is beneficial.
Strong understanding of fund structures, waterfalls, and investor reporting.
Ability to think strategically while remaining hands‑on in execution.
Comfortable working directly with founders and senior leadership.
Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
