Description The
Sr. Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer
will identify and drive all functions of the business to exceed safety, quality, delivery, cost, and efficiency goals. The Sr. CI Engineer will develop/buildout the framework of the ASC (FF) Business system and train and implement lean principles by supporting our Corporate HQ. This position will work closely with all levels of assigned locations to ensure that best practices and continuous improvement are a part of our culture.
How You Will Help
Work with all the functional teams to document critical processes and build the ASC (FF) Business System along an ISO certification path.
Engage with leadership at HQ to set specific targets to functionally and strategically achieve improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Innovation metrics based on gap analysis of actual vs target.
Collaborate with local teams to deploy a lean strategy to achieve business objectives and financial targets.
Implement lean and continuous improvement initiatives including Problem Solving, Transactional Process Improvement, Value Steam Mapping, 5S, Daily Management and other lean tools and principles in alignment with the ASC (FF) Business System
Drive the kaizen event and continuous improvement funnel from identification of opportunities to full implementation of improvements.
Support building strong location teams by mentoring and coaching, and providing formal and informal lean training at all levels
Support technology innovation throughout the network
Engage in the company wide network of CI practitioners to accelerate best practice sharing, process and tool development.
What You Will Bring
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Engineering or other technical field
Minimum 10 years in manufacturing and/or distribution with 3 years in Lean/CI implementation focus, including experience leading/facilitating kaizen events and bringing transformational change to a medium or larger sized manufacturing site (distribution experience helpful)
Subject matter expertise and practical lean deployment experience with tools like Problem Solving, VSM, Daily Management, 5S, Standard Work, Kanban, Poke Yoke, and others.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and within the future
