Seeking a Senior Litigation Counsel to manage a portfolio of intricate Professional Liability claims at the excess level. Ensure timely and accurate analysis and confirmation of coverage, while effectively conveying coverage positions regarding assigned claims. Attain prompt and precise assessments of liability and damages. Offer guidance, technical support, and case management leadership to claim professionals and defense attorneys representing insured clients during the investigation, evaluation, negotiation, settlement, and defense of claims and litigation as warranted. Engage in or assist with settlement negotiations alongside insured personnel and counsel when suitable. Collaborate with Claims management and the Claims Review Committee as necessary for the assessment and oversight of assigned claims. Support the formulation of policies and standards for the Claims Division.
A minimum of 5 to 8 years' experience in insurance claims or a comparable legal field is required. Proficiency in coverage analysis, litigation processes, and the management/negotiation of large and/or complex claims is essential. Experience in managing D&O, Fiduciary, EPL, and/or Cyber claims is advantageous. A law degree from an ABA accredited institution and admission to a state bar is required. Professional insurance credentials are a plus. Familiarity with the energy sector is an added benefit.
