The AVP, Life & Retirement (L&R) Strategic Analytics is responsible for developing and executing the analytics strategy that supports key business objectives across the L&R organization. This role ensures alignment between data priorities, operational goals, and financial targets, while fostering data‑driven insights that shape product, operational, and enterprise initiatives. The AVP leads the development of analytical tools and infrastructure, represents L&R in cross‑functional data initiatives, and provides strategic insight to leadership through high‑impact analysis and communication.

Key Responsibilities Oversee the development and delivery of the L&R analytics strategy, ensuring data priorities align with operational and financial targets.

Maintain a portfolio of business initiatives that are informed and enhanced by analytical insights.

Serve as a strategic advisor to L&R leadership by translating complex analytics into actionable recommendations.

Lead the creation and maintenance of analytical infrastructure—including models, dashboards, databases, and analytical tools—that enables data‑driven insights.

Integrate internal and external data sources to enhance the accuracy, relevance, and scalability of analytical capabilities.

Ensure tools and models support business forecasting, performance assessment, and strategic decision‑making.

Partner with cross‑functional teams to elevate data insights and support the implementation of resulting initiatives.

Prepare and communicate key findings to L&R leadership and stakeholders, ensuring clarity, insight, and strategic relevance.

Represent L&R analytics in enterprise‑level initiatives, including Corporate Data Strategy and GenAI efforts.

Act as the L&R subject matter expert on data architecture, flows, governance, and industry best practices.

Provide effective leadership to analytical staff, including mentoring, performance management, and professional development.

Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Champion analytic best practices and support the growth of analytical capability across the organization.

Support the successful implementation, integration, and execution of organizational strategic and tactical initiatives.

Identify opportunities where analytics can accelerate progress toward enterprise goals.

Additional Information Periodic travel may be required.

Qualifications Education Actuarial designation or MBA preferred.

Experience 8+ years of experience in Actuarial Science, Data Analysis, Finance, or a related field.

4+ years of experience in the insurance or financial services industry; life and/or retirement experience preferred.

2+ years of management experience with demonstrated people leadership.

Technical & Leadership Competencies Proven ability to influence and implement business strategy through analytics.

Extensive experience using analytical tools to develop predictive models, financial forecasts, and executive reporting.

Strong ability to lead, prioritize, and deliver cross‑functional initiatives.

Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to all levels of the organization.

Strong collaboration, organizational, and prioritization skills.

Pay Range $139,300.00 - $205,450.00

Salary is commensurate to experience, location, etc.
