Electrical Systems Technical Lead

– Bio‑Rad Laboratories, Inc.

Work within Bio‑Rad’s Clinical Diagnostics Group R&D organization as a Senior Staff Electrical Systems Engineer, transforming engineering concepts into functional prototypes and finished products that improve healthcare outcomes worldwide.

How You’ll Make An Impact

Develop electronic architecture from system requirements to PCBA board level.

Design PCBA containing microprocessors and motor control drivers.

Design mixed‑signal reliable electronics at the component selection, schematic entry, PCB layout, board bring‑up, and verification for both prototype and manufacturing NPI.

Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to design and solve challenging engineering problems.

Perform hardware testing at the instrument level and provide feedback to the rest of the team.

Lead and be accountable for the system configuration management of all hardware changes to the fleet of instruments.

Lead and be accountable for all EE components to the SAP/PLM environment.

Create complete engineering documentation, test protocols, and regulatory compliance for robotic systems.

Prepare, plan, and lead the EE design reviews and be accountable.

What You Bring

Education/Work Experience: Minimum college degree (B.S.) and 10+ years of electrical engineering.

Proficiency in OrCAD, CAD design tools.

Proficiency in microcontroller devices, Altium Designer.

Excellent knowledge and skills with lab test equipment such as multimeter, oscilloscope, logic analyzer and power supply.

Excellent communication and presentation skills and a team player.

Demonstrated troubleshooting experience to resolve EMI/EMC/ESD.

Familiarity with life science safety standards, such as IEC61010 and risk management.

Total Rewards Package Compensation range: $153,100 to $210,600. Eligible for a variable annual bonus based on individual objectives and company performance.
