We are recruiting an experienced Senior Manager / Director – US Tax professional to join a leading global financial services tax practice. This role supports clients across hedge funds, private equity, mutual funds and alternative investment vehicles, delivering end-to-end tax advisory, compliance, structuring and strategic insights.
You will lead multi‑jurisdictional client engagements, manage complex partnership tax matters, and drive the delivery of K-1s, K-3s, and partnership returns. You will also play a key role in mentoring teams, shaping tax strategies, and fostering a culture of quality, integrity, inclusion and innovation.
Lead US tax compliance and advisory work for hedge funds, private equity, mutual funds and other investment partnerships.
Review and sign off on partnership tax returns, Schedules K-1 and K-3, book‑tax adjustments, and securities analysis.
Advise on fund structuring, tax‑efficient operating models, investment strategies, and cross‑border tax considerations.
Analyse trading reports and identify tax technical issues (wash sales, straddles, constructive sales, allocations).
Review partnership agreements and PPMs for tax implications, allocation methodologies, incentive fees & more.
Manage multi‑location tax engagement teams, workflow planning, budgets, billing and client delivery.
Drive business development by identifying opportunities, presenting solutions, and strengthening client relationships.
Develop thought leadership, new ideas and technology‑enabled tax solutions.
Promote a positive, inclusive, high‑performance culture; coach and mentor junior team members.
Collaborate with global teams across multiple financial services markets.
Deep technical knowledge of US partnership taxation and asset management tax.
Expertise in hedge funds, private equity, mutual funds, fund structuring and alternative investment vehicles.
Ability to manage complex client portfolios and multiple deadlines across jurisdictions.
Strong leadership, team‑building and coaching capabilities.
Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to translate complex issues simply.
Experience identifying client needs, building trusted relationships, and contributing to new business.
Commercial acumen with experience in pricing, contracting and engagement economics.
Ability to innovate through automation, digitisation, large data sets, tax technology and visualisation tools.
Strategic thinker with ability to balance big‑picture direction and detailed execution.
Qualifications
CPA, US Bar, EA or LLM.
10+ years of recent US Tax experience within a Big Four or financial services tax environment.
Experience serving clients in the wealth & asset management sector.
Exposure to federal, state, and international tax considerations.
