Location:

San Francisco Bay Area, California (San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Clara, etc.)

Responsibilities

Build hazardous materials inspections, oversight, and sampling programs (Certified Site Surveillance Technician or Certified Asbestos Consultant required).

Conduct construction safety, behavior-based safety, biohazard, chemical or lab safety, data analysis, electrical safety (NFPA 70E), fire prevention, industrial hygiene, laser safety, lock‑out tag‑out (LOTO), machine guarding, process hazard assessments, robotics safety, and safety process improvement.

Provide onsite client support to solve pressing EHS challenges.

Assist global companies in developing solutions to complex technical and regulatory issues.

Perform safety risk assessments, inspections, and observations; implement effective EHS programs, procedures, and standard work to ensure regulatory compliance and protect personnel and the environment.

Develop and implement innovative EHS programs and strategies in Hazard Communication (HazComm), Injury Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP), Chemical Management, Occupational Health, Safety Management Systems, Process Safety and Risk Management (PSM), Industrial Hygiene, and technical support.

Support EHS communication in various client environments.

Investigate accidents, incidents, or issues and implement corrective actions to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Enable clients’ business objectives and act as an extension of their EHS team.

Manage tasks to achieve scope, budget, and schedule targets while exceeding client expectations.

Build strong collaborative relationships with clients and ERM employees.

Assist with collecting, reviewing, and analyzing field data to evaluate conditions and implement solutions.

Participate as an enthusiastic team member on various project teams.

Ensure quality standards on project deliverables and correspondence.

Collect building material samples for analysis of hazardous materials (asbestos, lead, PCBs, etc.) and oversee abatement and documentation.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, engineering, or related science, or equivalent experience (2 years of experience equals 1 year of education).

At least 2+ years of experience working with significant private‑sector clients.

Willingness to travel to client sites for up to 40 hours per week primarily within the Northern California Bay Area.

Working knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal regulations and their application to specific industries.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments and deliverables concurrently.

Highly organized, analytical, detail‑oriented, problem‑solving, with project management skills and a strong focus on results.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to present clear, concise information to leadership and clients.

Strong teamwork and independent work abilities.

Driver’s license required; must be able to operate company vehicles for frequent travel.

Position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Desired Qualifications

Master’s degree in safety, occupational health, engineering, or related science, or equivalent experience.

Knowledge of California state and local EHS regulations and best practices.

Compensation Annual base pay range: $76,000 – $97,410 USD. Pay is based on education, experience, geography, performance, travel, and other factors. Employees may fall outside this range based on business needs.
