Role Summary Our mission is to revolutionize the way our business manages conducts critical functions via systems, and we need a visionary Leader to spearhead our platform transformations. The Associate Director, Platform Transformations, Applications Development partners with other IT resources and the Business Operations teams to optimize technology outcomes. Success for the Technical Leader starts with building and maintaining strong relationships with all other counterparties. A deep understanding of business and IT processes supports proposing and driving changes that deliver value for business partners at National Life Group. This role involves leading a team, collaborating with IT and business operations, and ensuring that the critical L&A systems such as New Business acquisitions, Policy Administrations systems, Investments, Finance etc.

This role essentially is to apply thought leadership to execute and work with business to realize more efficient way of conducting business through new more efficient systems. Discover the current states of business processes and systems to frame future states for new business process in new platforms.

All about transformational leadership and acting as a change agent while making a difference for our IT & Business.

This position currently offers an onsite work schedule, with the expectation that you are in the office four (4) days per week during onsite core days. Our current onsite core days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The work schedule type and core days are subject to change with advance notification and manager discretion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Stakeholder management & collaboration:

Work with business stakeholders to ensure solutions satisfy business requirements and are of the highest quality. Utilize strong emotional and social intelligence to build relationships across the enterprise. Communicate effectively, and with an appropriate level of detail, to business and IT resources.

Flexibility:

Work with limited direction, usually within a complex environment, contributing to operational and transformational efforts.

Come up logical solutions:

Provide for complex business and IT issues, working closely with vendors and internal teams to resolve problems during transformations and when change is implemented.

Knowledge of SDLC & IT Value Chain in Life & Annuity Business

Understand all aspects of value chains in IT example:

UI/UX, Process Flows

How UI/UX interacts with Logical and Physical entities

APIs, Batch

Data Supply chains and integrity

Compliance and security needs

Systems Configuration and Change Management

Minimum Qualifications

Experience in leading large-scale change and transformations in Life & Annuities Business

Delivery Management, Product management and Change management experience during Insurance transformations

Exposure to working with Business Process People and IT Engineers, and PMO

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Project Management.

Experience with Insurance systems, with exposure to product set up.

Experience in insurance, particularly Life & Annuity.

Strong background in technical delivery management.

15+ Years of experience in leading change in Insurance industry.

Base Pay Range The base pay range for this position is the range National Life reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors, including: prior experience and job-related knowledge; education, training and certificates; current business needs; and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances.

Additional Compensation and Benefits The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in National Life’s discretionary annual incentive programs, subject to the rules governing such programs. If hired, the employee will be in an "at-will position" and National Life reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
