Our client is a SaaS startup, looking for an Accounting leader to build and run a best‑in‑class function as the organization scales.
This role owns the close, drives workflow improvements, and lays the foundation for long‑term systems and controls.
Base Pay Range
$200,000.00/yr - $225,000.00/yr Responsibilities
Lead all day‑to‑day accounting operations, including monthly and annual close, with timely and precise financial reporting in line with U.S. GAAP. Oversee the full general ledger, payables, receivables, billing, collections, and payroll. Manage revenue recognition activities and ensure adherence to all relevant accounting standards. Deliver monthly financial packages (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) with clear insights for leadership. Act as the primary liaison for external auditors and guide the company through its first formal audit, including documentation readiness and internal control design. Establish and refine accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures to support accuracy and compliance. Build scalable systems and processes, including planning for an eventual transition from existing accounting tools to a more robust ERP. Identify opportunities for automation and operational improvement across accounting workflows. Hire, mentor, and develop a high‑performing accounting team. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 8-12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including time in public accounting. Industry: SaaS or AI startup experience. Hands‑on experience managing end‑to‑end accounting operations in a fast‑moving SaaS startup. Successful history leading the annual audit. Strong proficiency with accounting systems and ERP system implementation/migration. Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to work strategically and roll up your sleeves. CPA (active within the last 10 years). Seniority Level
