Position Description Summary Consertus is developing a pipeline for future project work, and we are seeking to connect with experienced Cost Estimator professionals. These potential roles are expected to support various client programs located in Los Angeles, Pomona, Washington DC, and Atlanta, GA, and may involve work in one or more of the following sectors: K-12 and Higher Education Facilities, Rail and Transit Infrastructure, Airport Modernization Projects, Oil & Gas Capital Programs. This is an ideal opportunity for seasoned Cost Estimator professionals who are open to being considered for future assignments aligned with their expertise and availability. As new programs are awarded, selected candidates will be contacted for formal consideration and next steps.

We are particularly interested in Estimators with a background in cost modeling, quantity takeoffs, change order analysis, and capital project estimating. Qualified candidates should have experience preparing estimates at various stages of design and construction for public agencies or large infrastructure programs, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

Develop conceptual and detailed cost estimates for various stages of project development.

Perform quantity take-offs, material and labor cost analysis, and pricing of subcontractor work.

Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and construction personnel to ensure estimates are accurate and aligned with scope and schedule.

Maintain and update estimating tools, databases, and historical cost data.

Prepare cost reports and present estimates to project teams and stakeholders.

Support the development of value engineering, change order analysis, and risk assessments.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

5 to 10 years of construction cost estimating experience (depending on level).

Demonstrated experience with infrastructure or vertical construction projects in at least one of the sectors listed.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, cost estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, CostX, RSMeans), and scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6).

Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to manage complex estimates with competing priorities.

Preferred Certifications

Certified Professional Estimator (CPE)

LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP)

Project Management Professional (PMP)
