We are seeking an experienced and driven Director of Catering Sales to lead our private event sales efforts and position Luminarias as one of Los Angeles’ premier event destinations. This role offers the opportunity to drive revenue, build client relationships, and curate memorable events.

Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000 per year

Key Responsibilities

Drive private event sales by prospecting, qualifying, and securing new business while nurturing existing client relationships.

Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve and exceed revenue targets for weddings, social events, corporate functions, and other private events.

Lead site tours and client consultations, showcasing event spaces, culinary offerings, and service capabilities.

Prepare detailed proposals, contracts, and event orders that align with client needs and maximize profitability.

Collaborate closely with operations and culinary teams to ensure seamless event execution and exceptional guest experiences.

Represent Luminarias at networking events, bridal shows, and industry trade shows to promote the venue and generate leads.

Track sales activity, forecast revenues, and maintain accurate CRM records.

Stay current on market trends, competitive set, and industry best practices to continuously refine sales strategies.

Mentor and oversee the catering sales team, fostering a high‑performance, guest‑centric culture.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in catering/private event sales, preferably in upscale restaurants, event venues, or hospitality environments.

Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals with strong business development skills.

Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with a polished and professional demeanor.

Strong organizational and time‑management abilities, with keen attention to detail and follow‑through.

Experience with catering sales systems, CRM platforms, and event management software (e.g., TripleSeat, Delphi, Caterease, or similar).

Knowledge of food, beverage, and banquet service operations.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event demands.

Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or related field (preferred but not required).

Must be 21 years of age or older.
