Safety Specialist
Pay Range $45.00/hr - $65.00/hr
Location Washington, D.C. (HoR or Senate Buildings)
Duration Contract until Summer 2026 - with extensions
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety and conducting safety training in construction, manufacturing, or heavy industry
Demonstrated mastery of a company safety training program and content delivery
Experience performing site inspections to evaluate safety issues; drafting safety policies, procedures, and other documents; performing job hazard analyses; supporting incident investigation and associated reporting and trend analysis; reviewing safety regulations and assessing applicability; and other safety and occupational health related activities
Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and requirements
Solid written and oral communication skills
Fully vaccinated
Clean background (will be badged once hired)
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
CSP (Certified Safety Professional)

Responsibilities
Conduct training programs for existing and new policies and procedures
Perform site inspections to evaluate safety issues
Draft safety policies, procedures, and other documents
Perform job hazard analyses
Support incident investigation and associated reporting and trend analysis
Review safety regulations and assess applicability; and other safety and occupational health related activities
