Position Summary The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) is seeking a full-time General Obstetrician and Gynecologist (Open Rank Faculty). The ideal candidate will provide full-scope obstetric and gynecologic care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, participate in the education of medical students and residents, and contribute to departmental service and quality improvement initiatives. Faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to delivering high‑quality, equitable care to a diverse patient population and to support the academic mission of UIC through clinical excellence, teaching, and scholarly activity.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide full‑scope obstetric and gynecologic care, including outpatient services, inpatient obstetrical care, and gynecologic surgery.
Provide in‑house Labor and Delivery and Obstetrical Emergency Room coverage.
Supervise, teach, and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows in clinical and educational settings.
Participate in departmental educational activities, including didactic sessions, case conferences, and simulation training.
Serve on departmental and institutional committees as nominated by Department leadership.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Medical Doctor (MD) degree or equivalent.
Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois.
