Summary Dynamic, quality of life culture, $32B fast growing RIA is seeking a Business Development Officer to source and assist advisors with closing high net worth client relationships from custodial referral channels. SEIA has been growing aggressively with a constant source of quality new client leads within a world class, growth focused RIA firm that was built by advisors for advisors.
This position is responsible for developing and building trust-based relationships with custodial partner branch managers and financial consultants as well as the 100 plus wealth advisors at SEIA. This role will focus on collaborating closely with our custodial partners to explain the process our firm has developed over the past 30 years to resolve complex financial related problems for their existing clients; and assist our wealth advisors with converting these clients to our firm. This is an incredible upside opportunity for a well-tenured wealth consultant with strong communication skills. Opportunity to offer customized investment portfolios inclusive of private funds with a heavy planning focus that was built to solve all significant client problems. No existing book of wealth clients is required for this role.
This role reports into the Chief Growth Officer.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain strategic relationships with custodial partner branch managers, financial consultants, and SEIA wealth advisors to drive referral opportunities.
Collaborate with custodial partners to present SEIA’s solutions for complex financial challenges and demonstrate the firm’s value proposition.
Identify and qualify high-net-worth prospects through custodial referral channels and other strategic sources.
Coordinate and facilitate meetings between prospects and SEIA advisors, ensuring a smooth transition and positive client experience.
Manage the sales pipeline by tracking outreach, meetings, and conversion progress in Salesforce.
Provide consultative support to advisors during the conversion process, including guidance on planning strategies and investment solutions.
Analyze referral trends and campaign performance to deliver actionable feedback for continuous improvement.
Represent SEIA at industry events and custodial partner functions to strengthen brand presence and generate new business opportunities.
Stay informed on market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive offerings to position SEIA effectively in the marketplace.
Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, operations, compliance) to ensure alignment and execution of business development initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred designations: Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®), LL.M. in Taxation.
Preferred technical skills: Salesforce user, Word Processing Software (Word); Electronic Mail Software (Outlook); Presentation software (PowerPoint); and Publisher software.
Other relevant industry designations are a plus.
Entrepreneurial self-starter with 5 plus years track record of success building and retaining relationships within private wealth (wholesaler consultant role, private wealth advisor etc.).
Polished professional image with extensive experience serving as a trusted wealth advisor or wholesaler consultant.
Familiarity with problem solving via financial planning, estate planning, tax planning and asset management with advanced knowledge of private funds investing.
Proven success in achieving high sales goals.
