Job Description Job Summary Within our Fencing, Lawn & Garden group, the Director of Supply Chain and Purchasing is a strategic leadership role responsible for the end‑to‑end management of the supply chain and purchasing division. The position supervises all areas of procurement, planning, logistics, warehousing, and distribution, ensuring the efficient and cost‑effective flow of materials and products.
The Director will develop and implement supply chain strategies to optimize performance, mitigate risks, and support the company’s growth objectives.
Compensation Range $140,000.00 – $150,000.00 annually.
Principle Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership : Develop and execute comprehensive supply chain strategies aligned with the company’s overall business goals.
Identify and implement best practices to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage.
Procurement and Sourcing : Oversee the development and execution of sourcing strategies to ensure a reliable and cost‑effective supply of materials and components.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers and manage vendor relationships.
Implement supplier performance management programs to ensure quality and on‑time delivery.
Ensure ethical sourcing practices.
Planning and Forecasting : Collaborate with demand planning and forecasting processes to ensure accurate inventory levels and production schedules.
Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to align supply chain plans with business needs.
Implement and maintain inventory management systems to optimize inventory levels and minimize obsolescence.
Logistics and Distribution : Collaborate with logistics and distribution, including transportation, warehousing, and order fulfillment.
Optimize transportation routes and modes to reduce costs and improve delivery times.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.
Manage import and export operations as needed.
Performance Management and Reporting : Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track supply chain performance.
Prepare and present regular reports on supply chain performance and initiatives to senior management.
Identify and implement corrective actions to address performance gaps.
Manage and control the supply chain budget.
Risk Management : Identify and assess supply chain risks, including disruptions, volatility, and regulatory changes.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
Establish and maintain business continuity plans.
Qualifications Competencies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present data in an organized manner.

Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, practices, and technologies.
Experience in procurement, planning, logistics, and distribution.
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
Proficiency in SAP is a plus.
