Director, Business Development & Capture (DOD and IC)
Information Management Group, Inc. is seeking a director to lead our Business Development department for DOE, DOD, and IC customers. The Director of BD will execute IMG’s strategic growth plan by developing a qualified pipeline of opportunities within IMG’s customer base, managing the business funnel, coordinating the core team, winning task orders, and growing the company. As a small business, this position contains full business development lifecycle management, including BD, Capture, and Proposal Management.
Responsibilities
Lead the identification and qualification of opportunities at the top of the funnel and mentor, manage, and develop Business Development team members.
Develop capture plans, formulate a winning capture strategy, and obtain resources necessary to execute the capture plan.
Coordinated delivery of proposals that articulate the solution and identify its competitive advantages.
Manage and support proposal development processes: planning, organizing, strategy development, scheduling, ensuring compliance, writing, coordinating activities, preparing status reports, critiquing, and recommending improvements. Lead all tasks necessary to compete for and win contract awards.
Lead development of internal teaming, capabilities gap analysis, competitive assessments, discriminators, key win themes, price‑to‑win, and overall win strategy.
Conduct various color reviews as part of the Business Development life‑cycle.
Schedule business‑case reviews, go/no‑go, road‑map, and related meetings with senior management for proposal submission.
Draft and write proposal sections.
Review and train proposal writers.
Craft proposal framework from each Market Survey, RFI, RFQ, and RFP; develop compliance matrix and review proposals for compliance.
Work with Contracts, Pricing and Programs to determine resource requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years’ recent experience leading Business Development with revenue, profit, and headcount objectives.
Experienced managing the BD lifecycle, from relationship building to opportunity pipeline management, capture, response, and submission.
Strong knowledge of the Shipley proposal process.
Experience in Information Technology professional services sales to the federal government, with systems engineering and technical assistance preferred.
Experience with a variety of GWACs, including GSA Schedules and IDIQs; familiarity with RS3, SITE III, IMCS IV, Seaport, and GSA MAS desired.
Proficiency with Deltek CRM and data analytics.
Education Bachelor’s degree preferred; alternatively, an additional 4 years’ experience in a role of similar size, scope, and complexity may substitute for the degree.
