Overview

Our client, a private equity firm that recently completed a carve-out in the retail/CPG and restaurant franchise space, is seeking a

Director of FP&A

to build, scale, and lead the financial planning and analysis function. Reporting directly to the

CFO , this leader will own budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and forward-looking analytics, while building out a newly created FP&A organization.

This position is designed for someone who thrives in high-growth environments, is energized by building from a blank slate, and has deep familiarity with multi-unit economics, retail operating models, and franchise structures.

Key Responsibilities Build & Lead the FP&A Function

Stand up all FP&A reporting, forecasting, and analytical frameworks from inception.

Build a team of four to start:

1 FP&A Manager + 3 Sr. Analysts/Analysts .

Implement scalable dashboards, KPI suites, and recurring cadence for business visibility.

Strategic Partnership & Insights

Serve as a central business partner to the CFO, PE sponsors, and executive leadership.

Lead board & investor reporting, KPI analysis, performance discussions, and strategic planning.

Own annual operating plan, long-range planning, and scenario modeling.

Evaluate store-level economics, contribution margin, product lifecycle performance, and channel profitability.

Identify EBITDA uplift levers related to menu mix, pricing strategy, labor, COGS, distribution, and supply chain.

Build decision-making frameworks to support product innovation and franchising expansion.

Support ongoing carve-out integration, including system alignment and reporting consolidation.

Contribute to future acquisition assessment, modeling, operator diligence, synergy tracking, and post-close planning.

Qualifications

7–12+ years

of progressive FP&A experience.

Experience in

retail, CPG, or multi-unit restaurant/franchise operations

required.

Prior exposure to private equity, carve-outs, M&A integration, or rapid scale environments preferred.

Proven ability to build an FP&A team, reporting infrastructure, models, and systems.

Strong executive communication and board-facing presentation skills.

Advanced Excel/financial modeling capability with comfort in ambiguity and rapid change.
