Revenue Cycle Director, Advisory Services (Remote) Optum is a global organization that delivers care, aided by technology to help millions of people live healthier lives. The Revenue Cycle Director, Advisory Services is the overall project lead across complex revenue cycle engagements, responsible for determining overall approach, steering analysis structure, and ensuring quality and profitability.

Primary responsibilities include driving day-to-day activities for high-complexity consulting projects, leading team and client interactions, managing engagement execution, ensuring client satisfaction, and supporting business development initiatives.

Remote Work All hires will be required to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. For hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, office presence is required at a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities

Lead day‑to‑day activities for large, high‑complexity consulting projects with healthcare provider clients, providing project management, change management, and best‑practice expertise.

Serve as member of Optum Advisory Sales, Utilization, and Profitability leadership team to drive and support business development and timely project execution.

Serve as people manager for 1‑3 Consultant and/or Project Lead level staff across GLs 27, 28, and 29.

Act as principal point of contact for client project leads across diagnostic and implementation engagements.

Gather needed data/information, conduct cost/benefit, benchmarking, requirements, and gap analyses.

Build the client’s perception of Optum as a trusted partner through relationship management, executive presence, and high‑quality deliverables.

Identify, analyze, and recommend solutions to meet client needs, including analytics, workflows, system selection, test plans, and training plans.

Develop and manage project plans, staffing plans, budgets, and risk management activities to ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery.

Ensure engagement quality through proactive feedback, continuous improvement, and knowledge transfer.

Present engagement deliverables to stakeholders, including C‑suite executives, and facilitate implementation of recommendations.

Leverage project documents for re‑use across engagements and communicate lessons learned to internal and client stakeholders.

Contribute to practice‑level initiatives, maintain industry knowledge, and share expertise with peers.

Coach and mentor junior staff, providing professional development support.

Required Qualifications

7+ years of healthcare revenue cycle consulting experience.

Epic Revenue Cycle experience with certification in either HB Resolute or PB Resolute.

Epic Revenue Cycle implementation experience.

Client relationship management experience.

Deep revenue cycle content expertise across acute care and professional revenue cycle.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Proven aptitude to support business development initiatives and engage clients at the director and C‑suite level.

Strong critical thinking, relationship building, storytelling, and written & verbal communication skills.

Ability to lead and motivate cross‑functional teams and drill down to root causes.

Ability to drive quantifiable results and manage budgets, timelines, and deliverables.

Willingness to travel domestically up to 60%.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience managing projects/teams that achieved budget, timeline, and deliverable goals.

Experience mentoring junior level staff.

Solid healthcare industry knowledge.

Analytical reasoning and solution‑focused problem solving.

Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $132,200 – $226,600 annually (full‑time). Benefits include a comprehensive package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401(k) contributions (subject to eligibility). Pay is based on local labor markets, education, experience, certifications, etc.
