Senior Managing Actuary – ALM
CNO Financial Group is hiring a Senior Managing Actuary – ALM to work with Actuarial and Finance to manage the company’s asset‑liability management activities. The role involves developing strategies to manage interest rate risk and hedge market risks, supporting finance in ALM and capital management activities, and collaborating on asset models for valuation.
Responsibilities
Manage the company’s ALM risks in coordination with Actuarial and Finance.
Develop and maintain programs for measuring liability duration and hedging Fixed Indexed Annuity and Indexed Universal Life products.
Support Actuarial Valuation by developing and maintaining asset models for cash flow testing and creating investment and market related assumptions used in reserving.
Assist Finance with the development and maintenance of a program to allocate Net Investment Income and related analyses.
Support corporate initiatives including M&A and reinsurance.
Engage with the Investment and ALM Committee and the Investment Committee of the Board of Directors as directed by the Chief Investment Officer.
Manage 1‑2 direct reports in the completion of their assigned duties.
Qualifications
Highly proficient in ALM, hedging, and duration management.
Investment knowledge, including modeling.
Ability to solve challenging technical problems.
Knowledge of life, health, and/or annuity products.
Proficiency with actuarial modeling systems such as Poly, Excel, VBA, and/or BondEdge.
Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) required.
What you’ll need
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA).
10 years of relevant actuarial experience.
What will set you apart
Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) with a Finance and Investment Track.
5 or more years of ALM experience.
Willingness to work Central or Eastern time zone business hours.
