Job Description
We are looking for a strategic data and architecture leader who can work closely with data stakeholders and product delivery teams to drive the strategic vision for data analytics and technology architecture.
Responsibilities
Provide visionary leadership and mentorship to a multidisciplinary team of data architects, data engineers, integration engineers, and enterprise architects.
Oversee the review and analysis of complex data and technology requirements, guiding the prioritization and scoping of user stories to ensure alignment with stakeholder expectations and organizational capabilities.
Drive the end‑to‑end development, testing, and implementation of data and technology solutions, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to agreed‑upon commitments.
Champion the exploration and adoption of emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously advance AutoZone’s technology, data and analytics capabilities.
Lead the design and architecture of data and analytics solutions across project, product, and program levels, ensuring technical excellence and scalability. Facilitate and contribute to both strategic and tactical technology discussions with executive stakeholders, vendors, and customers.
Foster consensus among stakeholders by providing clear technical leadership on strategy, vision, and implementation approaches.
Manage and monitor funding approvals and budget expenditures to support data and technology initiatives.
Ensure all solutions and features are designed and implemented in accordance with established architectural standards and practices, proactively facilitating trade‑offs when necessary.
Conduct proactive capacity planning and monitoring of the data and analytics ecosystem to support and anticipate AutoZone’s growth.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree required (MIS/CIS degree preferred).
Extensive knowledge of data analytics platform concepts and implementation for a retail environment. Extensive working knowledge of various monitoring, operational, provisioning, performance, support environments and tools.
5‑10 years of progressive experience in data engineering, architecture roles.
Demonstrated proficiency in data analytics, including exposure to artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) modeling.
At least 5 years of managerial experience leading technology teams, with a proven track record of developing and nurturing technical talent.
Hands‑on experience with configuration and tuning of major cloud platform data products is required.
Strong business acumen and financial management skills.
