Senior Real Estate Fund Accountant
Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Real Estate Fund Accountant in Boston, MA.
Compensation: $95,000 – $110,000/year + bonus. Location: Boston, MA. Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid).
Overview This hybrid role manages accounting, reporting, and valuation for real estate investments while partnering with JV partners, administrators, and internal teams. Responsibilities include reviewing promote and fee calculations, analyzing valuations, supporting audits, and maintaining portfolio accounting systems. Ideal candidates have real estate investment accounting experience, strong valuation skills, and Yardi familiarity.
Responsibilities
Investment & Fund Accounting: Lead monthly and quarterly accounting and reporting for real estate investments, including review of promote structures, fees, valuations, and supporting schedules.
Financial Statements & Audit: Review quarterly and annual financial statements with fund administrators and manage fund-level audits to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Valuation & Performance Analysis: Review internal valuations and external appraisals, prepare materials for the Valuation Committee, and support ongoing performance analysis.
Cash & Investor Reporting: Oversee weekly cash availability analyses, evaluate loan activity, and coordinate investor capital calls and distribution notices.
Collaboration: Partner with Investment, Portfolio Analytics, Tax, Legal, and other stakeholders while maintaining system integrity and supporting process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required (CPA strongly preferred).
Experience: 2-4 years of real estate accounting experience, ideally from Big 4 public accounting or a real estate investment manager.
Technical Skills: Strong background in real estate investment accounting, valuation analysis, and financial reporting, with proficiency in Yardi preferred.
Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of real estate valuation, property operations, financial markets, and tax considerations for private real estate investments.
Skills & Attributes: Exceptional communication skills, high attention to detail, strong prioritization abilities, and professionalism to interact confidently with all levels of the organization.
