Smart Bricks
Founding Product Engineer — Smart Bricks (USA Launch)
Location:
San Francisco, CA
Type:
Full-time
Team:
Founding Team (USA)
Smart Bricks is building the world’s AI-native real estate investment infrastructure. Think of us as Bloomberg + Robinhood for global real estate — ingesting millions of data feeds across the US, UK, UAE, and EU to automate valuations, underwriting, investor matching, and end-to-end transactions. We compress a 6-month acquisition cycle into minutes.
We’re launching in the U.S. and opening our first engineering hub in San Francisco. This is a rare chance to join as a Founding Product Engineer and build core systems that power the next decade of Smart Bricks.
The Role We’re looking for someone who wants to own product, engineering, and execution end-to-end. You’ll work directly with the Founder/CEO and CTO, shape the U.S. product from zero, and build fast — from prototypes to production systems used by institutional investors, brokers, and high‑intent buyers.
This is not a “take tickets” role. You’ll help decide what we build, why, and how — and you’ll see your work push billions in real estate transactions.
You’ll be joining as part of the founding U.S. team, with meaningful equity, and the freedom to shape engineering culture from day one.
What you’ll do
Build and ship product end-to-end: from UX → APIs → infra → deployment.
Own key systems: valuations (AVMs), underwriting, investor matching, agentic AI agents, and market data ingestion.
Prototype quickly and iterate based on real user feedback.
Work directly with U.S. customers (institutional and retail) to understand workflows and pain points.
Architect scalable systems that can support millions of valuations across U.S. markets.
Partner with data, AI, and brokerage teams to localize Smart Bricks for U.S. market dynamics.
Set engineering standards, tooling, CI/CD, observability, and developer experience in the SF hub.
Help recruit the early engineering team and shape the culture.
Make pragmatic decisions on build vs buy, speed vs robustness, and architecture vs iteration.
Who you are
A strong generalist: comfortable going from frontend to backend to data models.
Product-minded: you think about users, friction points, and market impact — not just code.
Bias to action: you move fast and ship, even with imperfect information.
Ownership-driven: you don’t wait for instructions; you identify what matters and take it on.
Experienced in fast‑paced or zero‑to‑one environments (startup experience ideal).
Deeply comfortable with ambiguity.
Interested in real estate, finance, data infrastructure, AI/LLMs, or marketplaces.
Tech we use (You don’t need all of this — if you’re strong, you can pick it up.)
TypeScript, React, Next.js
Python, FastAPI
PostgreSQL, BigQuery
GCP, GKE, Firebase
LLMs, vector DBs, LangChain, agent frameworks
Real estate data APIs (MLS, public records, AVMs, etc.)
What you’ll get
Founding-level equity
with real ownership.
Competitive salary aligned to SF market.
Direct access to 500 Global, Techstars, and top angel investors from OpenAI and Anthropic
Chance to build a category-defining product at global scale.
Freedom to shape the U.S. product and engineering culture from day one.
A front‑row seat in defining how AI will transform global real estate.
Seniority level Mid‑Senior level
Employment type Full‑time
Job function Engineering and Information Technology
Industries Technology, Information and Internet
