Overview Memorial Hermann Medical Group seeks a Board‑Eligible/Board‑Certified Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Hospitalist to join our Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital.

Principal Accountabilities
Attend and actively participate in hospital multidisciplinary rounds on all patients where the hospitalist service is the primary service and, when appropriate, co‑management or consultative role.
Cover Code Blue and Rapid Responses in accordance with campus code committee recommendations.
Provide admission services for the Emergency Department, incoming transfer patients, and direct or emergent admissions in accordance with the hospital on‑call schedule and patient assignment guidelines.
Provide co‑management services for subspecialty services within scope and privilege designation of the hospitalist provider.
Provide consultative services for Medical Staff within scope and privilege designation.
Accept transfers of care from other clinical service lines with physician‑to‑physician hand‑off communication and patient acceptance.
Provide transfer center call for incoming non‑critical care medical patients in accordance with the hospital on‑call schedule.
Provide timely evaluation of admitted patients in accordance with Medical Executive Committee bylaws.
Abide and conform to hospital tenants, guidelines, and bylaws.
Provide physician‑to‑physician sign‑out for patients transitioning to post‑acute facilities.
Provide internal sign‑out at transitions of care consistent with standards of care.
Provide 72‑hour narcotic prescriptions for patients transitioning to skilled nursing facilities if clinically appropriate.
Participate in nursing and staff education when solicited by CNO, CMO, or COO.
Respond to clinical queries in a timely fashion.
Document history and physicals within 12 hours.
Document discharge summaries within 48 hours of discharge order.
Maintain current understanding of regulatory environment related to status and status patients consistent with national guidelines.
Provide post‑discharge coverage for appropriate home health orders up to 2 weeks or until seen by primary care physicians.
Encourage in‑network utilization of resources for continuity of care unless specified by patient or expertise is unavailable.
Respond in a timely manner to pages and callback from nursing staff unless impacting patient safety or experience.
In case of emergencies or disaster, provide additional coverage per campus protocol.
Participate in continuing education to maintain or enhance knowledge and skills.
Maintain ACLS certification.
Direct patient care throughout the health care system via consult orders.
Provide consultation services in collaboration with attending or primary care provider.
Communicate with attending physician, nurse, family, and treatment team when appropriate to obtain appropriate patient care plan.
Effectively communicate with treatment team to provide quality psychiatric care to patients systemwide.
Comply with best practices and other care directives.
Follow performance improvement initiatives.
Work with Memorial Hermann Physicians, Risk Managers, and Case Managers toward resolution of clinical, administrative or technical problems.
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to MH compliance privacy policies.
Ensure safe care to patients, staff and visitors while adhering to all MH policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications.
Promote professional growth by meeting mandatory/continuing education and skill competency requirements; support department goals, serve as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
Demonstrate commitment to compassionate and personalized patient experiences; model MH service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences.
