Physician – Cardiothoracic Surgery (Ascension)
Ascension St. Vincent is actively seeking a board‑certified Cardiac Surgeon to join our team in Indianapolis, Indiana. Responsibilities include all aspects of adult heart surgery, with an emphasis on cardiac transplantation and mechanical circulatory support.
Call Schedule
Primary and backup call shared evenly between 7 surgeons; daily primary call shared among 6 surgeons and transplant call shared among 4 surgeons.
Practice Details
Experienced, BC/BE Cardiothoracic Surgeon.
Group of 5 established surgeons performing over 1200 adult cardiac cases annually.
Facility: Ascension St. Vincent Hospital.
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana.

Responsibilities
Perform adult cardiac surgery with emphasis on cardiac transplantation and mechanical circulatory support.
Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team for patient care.
Participate in program development and research initiatives.

Join a 5‑surgeon team, 3 of which participate in heart transplant surgery.
On‑call schedules are rotated evenly among the group.
1:4 ratio for transplant call.
1:6 ratio for primary surgical call.
