to guide our next phase of strategic transformation, strengthen community connections, and ensure long-term sustainability. Position Summary

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the

Executive Director

will lead the planning, direction, and management of all Club operations. This role requires strong financial acumen, operational expertise, proven leadership skills, coupled with the ability to set a compelling vision and communicate it with clarity and authenticity. The ideal candidate brings nonprofit leadership experience, knowledge of the fitness/wellness sector, and a passion for fostering inclusive community engagement. Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

Partner with the Board and staff to shape and execute a 3-year plan that advances Samena’s mission and engages the community. Operational Leadership:

Provide oversight across all Club functions—including HR, finance, facilities, programming, membership, marketing, and PR. Drive long-term planning for facilities and programs to align with member needs, industry best practices, and competitive opportunities. Champion policies and initiatives that build a culture of safety, inclusivity, and community engagement. Financial Strategy:

Drive financial sustainability by following appropriate day‑to‑day financial oversight including budgeting, tracking, planning, risk assessments, capital plans, and ROI analysis. Partnering with external financial partners to ensure collaborative relationships. Fundraising & Development:

Lead Samena’s fundraising strategy—including grants, sponsorships, and community giving—to strengthen the financial sustainability and deepen community investment in the Club’s mission. Membership Growth:

Oversee revenue growth through innovative marketing, member acquisition and retention, and program development that diversifies and expands revenue streams. People Leadership:

Recruit, develop, and inspire staff to achieve high performance and professional growth. Model empathetic listening, trust‑building, and fairness in all interactions. Community Engagement:

Strengthen Samena’s visibility through strategic partnerships, member engagement, and active community outreach. Board Partnership:

Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Trustees, ensuring effective governance, strategic alignment, and productive discussions at monthly Directors meetings. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Recreation, or related field (Master’s preferred) 7–10 years of leadership experience in nonprofit management, fitness/health club sector, or related industry. Proven expertise in P&L management and financial operations, including budgeting, strategic planning, and cost optimization. Proven experience developing and executing successful fundraising initiatives (e.g., sponsorships, donor cultivation) that support organizational growth and community engagement. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high‑performing teams. Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust, communicate clearly, and navigate challenging conversations with diplomacy and professionalism. Track record of collaborating effectively with Boards, staff, members, and community partners. Preferred Qualifications

Experience in nonprofit leadership and fundraising initiatives including annual campaigns, grants, sponsorships, and community giving. Professional experience in fitness, wellness, aquatics, or recreation. Salary - $110-$150k + Performance based bonus, and will vary based on qualifications, experience, education, and other objective factors.
